Paul is saying that through faith in Jesus Christ, believers are no longer outsiders or foreigners, but they are now part of the family of God. They are fellow citizens with other believers and are united in their relationship with God.
Verse 20: “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”
