Cross Body Unity Statement: “Abiding Faith, Not Factionalism”

Our “EQUAL OPPORTUNITY REAL RESPECT” Cross Body Unity name represents a reconciled and discerning stance toward certain portions of the well-known Word of Faith and Charismatic movements—now often publicly reviled as “Prosperity Teachers.” We are not one of them, yet we understand them deeply and recognize how this once humble, rural, faith-filled movement was later attacked, misunderstood, and even hijacked by parts of Christian media, by ignorance, by unchecked success, and by the world, flesh, and devil that infiltrated leadership and culture alike.

I was there. For a time, I was seen as part of that stream and, like many sincere believers, I embraced nearly every Bible-based movement or worship expression that arose in those days. Yet I credit the stable, Bible-grounded example of Rev. Billy Graham–era faith, and the godly wisdom of my parents and extended family, for grounding me in sound doctrine, reverence, and enduring prayer.

When I use the term “Abiding Faith,” I refer to a ministry meaning—distinct from any branded movement. I withdrew from all ministry systems that became authoritarian, biased, manipulative, or materialistic. Too many evolved into controlling subcultures of gossip, witch-watching, and vulture-style “discernment,” often cloaked as prophetic purity but bearing no true respect for the wider Body of Christ.

My focus is not to accuse or condemn the founding fathers and mothers of these movements. Most could never have foreseen how vast their influence would grow—or how others would twist sincere biblical faith into doctrines of control, greed, or idolatrous success. For that, I offer compassion and understanding, not accusation.

I do, however, call for reform and reproof at the level of the Hebrews 10:25 fellowship base—the congregations, networks, and local ministry communities—where these distortions continue to harm rather than heal.

We owe much to both the Word of Faith and Prophetic Charismatic expressions, for within them are priceless truths about faith, prayer, and the living God. Yet these must be purified and restored for true spiritual emergency use—not for manipulation, gain, or media-driven celebrity worship.

As one who has observed for decades, I refuse to join the chorus of public accusers. I will even defend the right of leaders like Joel Osteen, who, though often maligned by “Demas Gossip Ministries,” may simply trigger envy and misunderstanding from those who cannot see the grace behind his call.

Since the 1970s, it has been my joy and calling to watch, discern, and help reform what goes on under the name of Christ-following. I do not use faith teaching to enrich myself—but to grow in grace, live dependently upon God, and model faith without faction.

We now offer this as a Cross Cultural, Mature Minister Body of Christ approach—beyond denominations, beyond media labels—anchored in the humility and nobility of the Bereans, and in the abiding truth of the Word of God.

“Reproof, Reform, and Respect: Faith Without Faction or Idolatry”

I. Purpose

This Cross Body Unity statement continues our reform focus concerning the Word of Faith and Prophetic Charismatic movements. It seeks to clarify that reproof and reform must begin not with public accusation or elite leadership blame, but with honest, Spirit-led evaluation at the Hebrews 10:25 fellowship level — the local congregation, ministry network, and community of believers.

Our call is to purify methods, restore motive, and redirect focus from material success to spiritual integrity and relationship with Christ.

II. Statement

We reprove and reform primarily at the grassroots level — what Scripture calls the gathering of believers in Hebrews 10:25. These are the congregations, the ministry fellowships, and the everyday communities where faith must remain pure and people-centered.

We do not accuse or attack the senior founders or early leaders of these movements. I have deep compassion and understanding for them, for they could not have known how vast their ministries would become, nor how later generations would twist or misuse their teachings.

Over time, some followers — both saved and unsaved — took sound faith doctrines and ran with them toward extremes: creating false, biased systems of control, “shepherding” legalism, and even forms of white witchcraft or New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)-style manipulation bearing impure fruit.

Yet, the original heart of these teachings was faith, freedom, and the living presence of Christ — not control or greed.

III. Reform Focus: Restoring Right Use

We remain grateful for both the Word of Faith and Prophetic Charismatic movements — in part. They carried genuine biblical insights that brought life and healing to many.

Our goal is to encourage the right re-use of what is true and needful, especially in times of spiritual emergency and warfare, while rejecting misuse, abuse, or the elevation of success to an idol.

In some modern circles, success theology has become a subtle form of Bible idolatry — a focus on results, wealth, and fame rather than Christ Himself. Cross Body Unity stands firmly against this drift.

IV. Respect and Discernment Toward Leaders

I will not name or accuse major leaders from afar. However, I do call attention to the misjudgment and media hostility often directed toward certain figures.

While I admire and value and genuinely respect the long ministry of Sr Pastor Joel Osteen, I do not know him,nor or am in his experienced, powerful and proven non elite peer group..

Nor have every been SENT to abide in or visit his ministry. Reason ? I felt peace about it. And I might have gone, living DFW 2005-2020 but I never once felt God’s need to go. Therefore I refuse to dishonor, accuse , neither bear false witness against a servant leader in Christ, who is more experience in world wide greatness of massive plus media, whom I regard as stable, worthy and for the most part “True” However,  I do not personally know him, or them.

V. Personal Ministry Witness

Since the 1970s, it has been both my calling and joy to observe and discern what takes place under the name of Christ-following.

I have never used faith teaching for wealth or status. Instead, I have applied it personally and relationally, growing in grace and dependence on God. My faith was shaped not by popular personalities but by mature, faith-filled Bereans — wise, Bible-grounded believers from Methodist, Presbyterian, and Baptist backgrounds.

Thus, my reformation approach is Cross-Cultural, Mature Minister Body of Christ — educated but not elitist, spiritually alive but not sensational, grounded in Selah reflection rather than competition

VI. Reforming Ministry Views on Methods and Money

This movement of reproof and reform includes a practical recalibration of Christian leadership ethics regarding identity, success, and stewardship:

1. Faith and ministry are not identity brands.
   They are not to be used for comparison, competition, or “FOMO” culture.

2. Ministry must not be used for material status.
   Faith teaching is never to become a business of image or accumulation.

3. Reject avarice and spectacle.
   There is no place for outlandish displays or luxury as proof of divine favor.

4. Teach personal responsibility and obedience.
   Each believer must follow God and their own Spirit-led conscience—without control or coercion.

5. Maintain an eternal perspective.
   All ministry must answer to the “Final Day” standard—accountability before Christ, not public applause.

VII. Conclusion

This Cross Body Unity statement affirms that the true reformation of faith teaching begins within hearts and communities, not institutions or media platforms.

We call for a return to the purity of Christ-centered motive, where faith serves the Kingdom, not the ego; where teaching equips rather than entraps; and where leaders embody humility over hierarchy.

Abiding Faith, Not Idolatrous Success.
Reform, not accusation.
Relationship, not religion.
Christ in all, and through all.

Also, while I do (2 Timothy 3:16-17) I reprove and reform what is usually ONLY at the Hebrews 10:25 BOTTOM (in the vase seeking ministry congregation and the ministry fellowships and the community BUT I DO WANT TO ACCUSE THE SR TOP FOUNDERS for I do not know them, nor have anything but deep compassion and understanding for they did not how BIG ALL OF THIS WOULD GET nor could they know that MANY PERSONS (really saved, unsaved) would TAKE IT and RUN WITH IT and USE IT to be doctrines with false biased, controlling, shepherding, NAR white witchcraft, cagey impure fruit

Yet,  I a lot to both of these movements (word of faith, prophetic charismatic IN PART ) but now we hope to encourage RE USE of what is TRUE and NEEDFUL in deep satanic EMERGENCY but not to misuse it, or abuse or make SUCCESS a Bible Idolatry. (like it has quickly become in CERTAIN MEDIA, immature various local  EFFECTED FALSE PROPHET realms)

I dare anyone to find fault with this person for using this faith teaching to make myself wealthy. Rather, I have used it, relied on it, and better understood it—rather alone, apart from the gatherings—for I grew in faith, not works, and not among the spirit-filled but rather among mature, gifted, faith-filled, Bible-noble Bereans who stemmed from Methodists, Presbyterians, and many Baptists.

I offer all of this up as a Cross-Cultural, Mature Minister Body of Christ “Christian Word-working, not Baptist” type of well-educated (not class-conscious) Proven Selah.
