JOHN THE B ENCOUNTERS I SAMUEL OVERWORKED ELI TEMPLE HIGH PRIESTHOOD

THE AVERAGE SAFE STATUS QUO MODERN DAY “WELL VERSED” LEADER would take one look at JOHN THE BAPTIST coming in from the WILDERNESS and SHRINK FAR BACK because of his POWER and MIGHT and ATYPICAL APPEARANCE…Plus, he’d grown so accustomed to the vegan (locusts and wild honey) simple lifestyle, he refused to join them at their extravagant potluck dinner gatherings.

Then, feeling more than a little bit uneasy in his striking presence, many of the Well Fed… quietly remarked among themselves, “He’s definitely UNSUBMITTED as he is not under any (OT Levitical) SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY”**

…By BLAMING, accusing, finding John “GUILTY” of not being Back UNDER the Law…… they could absolve themselves (wash their own hands) of feeling RESPONSIBLE to really RESPECT, to ACCEPT, and to befriend, and show the Love of God ….to this (definitely powerful, yet strange) perceived office newbie.

…ALSO, based upon John’s Big Persona, Unknown Quantity, (atypical) leader demeanor.. the extremely suspicious top leaders, elders.purposely and intentionally avoided him..

The hurried elders even warned their STAFF to freeze him out..and secretly accused…(… safely… from AFAR OFF) “It SEEMS (meaning ….always from afar off) that he’s up to no Godly good…Definitely he acts just like one more of those subversive undermining demonic big controllers.”

THE EMBARRASSMENT OF EZEKIEL

THE MODERN ALWAYS WORKING, PLAY IT SAFE, JESUS ACCEPTERS WOULD PROBABLY DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM PROPHET EZEKIEL WHO LAY ON HIS SIDE FOR 430 days. REASONS

1) He acted very strange, embarrassing and ATYPICAL..not “religious” “respectable” “accepted traditional” “well mannered”.

2) Ezekiel’s actions, demeanor did not LOOK anything like Famous Brother’s So and So’s View of “The Approved TRUE Office Prophet.”

3) The odd true prophet did not dress or act like any of them…nor did he ever want to.

4) He appeared solitary, by himself, without staff, followers or handlers

5) He was clearly not UNDER any Levitical Form or Spiritual Governmental Authority

6) The strange alone “prophet” had no office or dwelling. (Also he acted as if it really did not bother him…and this latter fact was what ultimately caused massive consternation among all of the unduly hard working, supremely take charge, big accomplished, leader high achievers!)

7) And this apparently shiftless “non wage earner” was “most likely another big bum” ..for he did not appear to be gainfully EMPLOYED,….. therefore was probably going to “try to USE them” and “TAKE ADVANTAGE of them.”

And, while the writer did not really see this in the Bible passage, just being keenly aware of the legalistic MINDFIELDS which now exist, one can just imagine one of the very knowledgeable, experienced, overseer elder/ leaders presuming some, even ALL of the ABOVE,.. then walking over to God’s Real Prophet and then, out in public, shaming and rebuking him by verse quoting:

“Ezekiel, let not your GOOD be evil spoken of!”
